Tourism Information of Lorestan

Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province is one of the thirty-one provinces of Iran . It is in the south-west of the country , in Iran's Region 2 , and its capital is Yasuj . The province covers an area of 15,563 square kilometers , and in 2006 had a population of 634,000 . According to National Population and Housing Census population of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad in 2011 was 658,629 . The people mainly speak Lurish language .

 

Geography

The province is mostly mountainous in terrain , part of the Zagros range . The highest point is the Dena summit with a height of 4,409 meters .

The mountain range of Dena , with more than 20 elevations and over 4000 meters high above the sea level , is , in fact , the great Himalayas in miniature . The mountain range , which is located in Kohgiluyeh va Buyer Ahmad province , is covered with oak forests . Natural springs , singing of the birds , and fresh air fascinate all lovers of nature .

Dena

Dena

Dena is the name for a sub-range within the Zagros Range of West/Southwestern Iran . Mount Dena , with 80 km length and 15 km average width , is situated on the boundary of the Isfahan , Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari provinces .
Mount Dena has more than 40 peaks higher than 4000 metres . With an elevation of 4,409 metres above sea level , Qash-Mastan is the highest peak in the Dena Range and in the Zagros Mountains in general . Another famous peak in this range is Hose-Daal close to Sisakht city , 30 km to the north of Yasuj .
Annual precipitation in Mount Dena is from 600 to 1800 mm and various rivers including a branch of the Karun rise in this range .
Geologically , Mount Dena is located in the Sanandaj-Sirjan geologic and structural zone of Iran and is mainly made of cretaceous limestone .

Marin is a village in Boyer Ahmad-e Garmsiri Rural District , in the Central District of Gachsaran County , Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province , Iran . At the 2006 census , its population was 393 , in 102 families .
